Franz Klammer eat your bloody heart out

Kids off school today because of snow and I was working at home on major deadline.

So I went sledging instead.

After falling off numerous times I put in a dazzling run that went for the whole length of the field. Sheep and children fled from by 17 stones travelling at what must have been at least 30 miles an hour.

Blew the kids away.

I am the champ.

I will be on Ski Sunday, I will make the bob sleigh team for the next winter olympics.

Software Archeology

The client asked what the field did and we were not sure as it has been a long time. We have had a look and unearthed the field which we believe may be from the early Cretaceous period or possibly even version 3.1. We are fairly sure this is accurate as the field uses the @brontosauros function. We unsure what this fucntion does but imagine it may have something to do with connecting to Lotus eSuite.

Norman

Somebody remineded me on the weekend ....

When I was younger I was in a band called "Norman", I was the lead singer. We did an album in my mate's bedroom and it was called "Fresh Garden Peas".

I can only remember one song, which was called: "I saw my mum in reader's wives".

When I am drunk I can remember how it goes.

Ahh memories

Mobile Thoughts

Two mobile things happened today:

1. Was in a meeting talking thru mobile project with one of the clients and she mentioned she is able to text without looking at her phone.

2. On the way home read an small article by some old crusty bird sneering about the forthcoming mobile Emmys. "Oh who wants to watch TV on your mobile" she carped.

See here is the difference; we have a generation of 20 somethings who are able to text withought f@cking looking and a load of old crusties who think that mobile tv/video means watching "Brief Encounter" on a 2 inch screen.

I think it is called a generation gap, a long time ago you could tell what side of it you were on by whether you thought the Rolling Stones were vulgar or not.

Dad Stuff

Important new book on Dads Stuff. Includes advice on how to make a gun from an elastic band, start a fire and do shadow puppets; I can only do a dog.

Also includes the top tip on how to teach kids to ride a bike; which is to throw away the stabilisers and pedals and let em scoot.

Go Dads.

You can find it here

Mobile Monday

Went along and schmoozed it with the mobile groovers at the first Mobile Monday event in London. Very interesting presentations but I can't help feeling that very few people are making any money out of mobile applications. People came across a bit grizzly about the technical problems and regulatory obstacles.

Met Russell Beattie and told him that I really liked his blog especially when he tells Republicans to f@ck off. Met Tom Hume too and enthused about ukuleles which I don't think helped ;-) Ukes are mobile in a way of course
